International Study Visits
ELSA groups all over Europe organise Study Visits in cooperation with other ELSA Groups based in 40 countries and 200 cities. Study Visits provide ELSA-members with a possibility to visit ELSA groups in other countries and host other groups in their own country. International Study Visits aim to develop mutual understanding between people with different cultural and legal backgrounds. As a result ELSA-members are professionally equipped for intercultural dialogue through sharing of cultural and academic experiences. Study Visits are always combined with academic programme that provides participants with exchange of legal knowledge.
In 2008 ELSA Network set itself a goal to put special focus on mobility of law students and young lawyers in order to enhance the intercultural dialogue between law students and young lawyers from different European countries. Local Groups of ELSA around Europe execute this goal with an aim to organise every year at least one international Study Visit in Local Groups.
How to participate in an International Study Visit?
Every member of ELSA can participate in International Study Visits in the ELSA Network. The responsible person in the ELSA-boards is Vice President for Seminars & Conferences. Institutional Study Visits
Institutional Study Visits are visits to international public or private institutions and organisations. During the visits the groups learn about functions of the institutions and gain in-depth knowledge on them from a legal point of view. Institutional Study Visits provide law students with information on the work of lawyers in the institutions and give them an insight on their law-making.
